If you are eligible for the NDIS, you will be funded to purchase “reasonable” and “necessary” supports to assist you to work towards your life goals. It will give you choice and control over how, when, and where supports are received. The National Disability Insurance Agency oversees the functioning of the NDIS. They are responsible for determining eligibility for the NDIS and will support you to develop a plan to identify your goals and determine supports required to achieve your goals. Your NDIS plan will be about you, your goals, and your needs. It will provide all the details about the supports you will be funded for. It will also list the amount of funding you will receive for each of these supports. Once your NDIS plan is approved, it will go for either 12 months, 24 months, or 36 months before being reviewed. If your circumstances change, you can request an early plan review at any stage.
